Remember a while back I was planning a holiday scrapbook for our West Coast adventure? Well, in all honesty, it stalled a little bit.
It started out well – I managed to write up what we were doing day by day while we were on the road for the first part of the trip. By the time we got to Seattle, I’d tailed off a bit. Mainly because we were staying with friends and it felt rude to disappear off to scribble up the day.
Still, there was a chance to redeem myself when we got home by playing catch-up and adding photos… and it started well.
But then other things seemed to be getting in the way. I was back at work. The knitting projects began queuing up. I started not being able to do much more than flop on the sofa when I got home in the evenings. And a whole load of other excuses. Which leaves me with a half a book more scrappy than scrap… a bit like this
But I’m ok with it. I’ve got a stack of brilliant photos saved on my computer and a book full of receipts, tickets and other mementos. One day I might go back and finish putting it all together, but until then I’m happy to know I’ve got the bare bones of it ready to go and the brilliant memories of the trip in my head.

I know this feeling all too well! I started a scrapbook-type thing for a holiday we took last year – still haven’t finished it! I’ve got the basics scribbled down + I’m aiming to get it done this summer. I just find crashing on the sofa with a pair of needles so much easier at the end of the day than sitting at a desk and putting a scrapbook together!
It does take so much more effort somehow, doesn’t it! Glad it’s not just me though!
