As easy as abc

With just a week to go (leaving it late? us? nooooo), thoughts are seriously turning to the nursery. Even though the wee man won’t be sleeping in there for a few months yet, we’re still keen to get it sorted out so it feels like he’s arrived… and also so that we have space to store all of his bits and pieces. I’m not kidding, he’s not even here yet and he has a more extensive wardrobe than I do.

Neither M or I are particularly keen on cartoony, ‘baby-baby’ nursery decor so we’re going a little off-piste. The walls are going to be from the Dulux naturals range (Cornflower white and Jasmine white) for just the tiniest hint of colour. And then we’re going to have the coolest, hand-painted canvas alphabet covering one wall — all done by Daddy.

a is for apple…

b is for banana…

and c is for cherry… (the best fruit in the world according to Daddy)

I love the idea of Junior’s room being filled with things made especially for him. Although I’m finding it hard to get my head around the fact that even though M just started this project yesterday, he’ll almost certainly finish it before I finish the patchwork cot quilt. Or the knitted cable blanket, for that matter.

Maybe I need to consider some slightly faster-moving craft activities?!
