A while back I blogged about the launch of Crafty Creatives, a monthly craft box inspired by the cosmetic sampling boxes like GlossyBox etc… it’s a craft take on the same idea, so every month you get a box of random craft supplies plus a kit with all you need to make a little something related to the monthly theme. The first box arrived a couple of weeks ago, but I haven’t had a chance to really digest what was in it until now…
The theme for box 1 was Florals. Now I’m not really a floral kind of girl, so this didn’t get me that excited from the get-go. Although honestly, it was impossible not to feel excitement when opening the box to all of this good stuff…
Buttons, ribbon, embroidery floss, jewellery beads, an art card, decorated mini-clips and a full-size bottle of fabric glue. Plus underneath all of the straw packaging…
A fat quarter of William Morris fabric, more painted buttons and the kit — which this month contains all you need to make a flower brooch (and the instructions are supplemented by a video on youtube – great idea).
Whilst the theme of the first box didn’t set my world on fire, it’s obvious the contents are carefully curated and the quality is excellent. I also think it’s great value for £10 (plus £2.95 postage). I love the idea of getting a random selection of bits I might not have ordinarily chosen and it’s a good crafty challenge to think how I might use them.
Can’t wait to see what’s in box 2… Did you sign up? What did you think of the first box?
X
